www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11688565Never nice to read but I guess it was expected. I did notice the last line about other sufferers reporting nausea and diarrhoea which I dont remember hearing about last time around so maybe it has mutated slightly.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-12052816More than 300 people are in intensive care with flu, official figures reveal. Latest data from the Department of Health for England show there have been 302 people in intensive care beds. It is unclear how many have H1N1 "swine flu" but they are expected to be in the majority. New figures on the number of deaths from seasonal flu and swine flu will be released by the Health Protection Agency on Thursday. Experts are urging at-risk groups to get immunised. This includes all pregnant women. For most people, H1N1 flu is a mild illness. However, some groups of people are more at risk of serious illness if they catch flu. People eligble for a free vaccine from their doctor are those aged 65 and older, pregnant women and people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. Health Secretary Andrew Lansley briefed Cabinet colleagues this morning on the flu situation. He told them the NHS had plenty of capacity to deal with the recent upsurge in cases.

Interesting claims on the radio today about how fast this current bout of flu is spreading. Supposedly NHS direct is struggling to cope with the increase in calls although this seems to be somewhat of a weak claim given how people ringing in about the subject seemed to be saying how impressed they have been by the service.
