What of a PA Africa, I haven't read of a what if? for that whole continent. Perhaps we would just need to re-read Conrad's Heart of Darkness to get an idea. OR there might be small settlements scratching a living amid burgeoning wild life and vegetation, cut off from each other.
Perhaps a Black Wormsley would be fighting for power.

There is John Christophers book from 1962 The World In Winter. In this story the next ice age cools Europe and most of the UK escapes to Africa. The protagonists to Nigeria. A short book but nice and bleak.
There is the reverse with Fuge for a Darkening Island by Christopher Priest. With this story a nuclear exchange in Africa drives refugees to beach their freighters on English shores and jump ship, triggering societal collapse. Another short story and also very bleak.
Can't think of any other African ones off the top of the head.
