Just finished reading this.... www.amazon.co.uk/Afterlight-Alex-Scarrow/dp/1409108155Its the follow up to a book called 'Last Light' which deals with a very sudden collapse in the worlds oil supply's and the subsequent fall out in the UK. This second book is set some 10 years after and starts off with the main characters from the first book now living in a community that they have established on a collection of off-shore Gas rigs, some 15 or so miles off the east coast. I wont give out to many spoilers but I enjoyed it, mainly for its portrayal of what a post-fall UK might look like some 10 years after. I'll be honest and admit that some of the plot itself had me raising my eye-brows but it was a fast moving story and certainly kept my interest. Not sure if I agree with the authors conclusions at the end but its still a worthy inclusion into the British post-apoc genre.

Will get it, I found "Last Light" to be far fetched but fast paced. Would you not have thought that the people living in the heroines street would have ganged up in one or 2 houses rather than be picked off one by one by the rampaging gang?
