If Nuclear winters, Global Cooling / warming induced, changing gulf stream causing ice age type stories I can reccomend these few books
The World in Winter by John Christopher A new ice age started ruining most of the northern hemisphere, any Brits who could fled to Africa where they found themselves almost as slaves as the Africans took advantage.
The Day After Tomorrow by Whitley Strieber Everyone knows this story from the movie
Icequake John R Spencer 2097 a New Ice age has developed and the remaining survivors either adapt or die.
ICE Arnold Federbush The North Pole moves to New York and people fight to survive in a world covered in ice.
Earth Winter by Richard Moran ( Deluge) A underwater volcano creates a new line of islands that disrupts the live giving gulf stream plunging the UK / Eire into an ice age.

THANK YOU!!!!!
I read Sixth winter years ago, forgot the title and when The Day after tomorrow was released, it reminded me so much of this book, I still believe whoever wrote the screen play for the film based it on this book.
I will have to try to replace it in my collection, its far superior to A Day After Tomorrow.
