Never really been one for gun 'porn' in PA fiction and I tend to turn off somewhat if an author makes to much of the technical details of the weapons being featured but I have a fondness for weapons that have a bit of style. And this one caught my eye..... blog.sub-studio.com/2012/09/pedersoli-baker-cavalry-shotgun/

'hansum. I understand that sawn- offs were quite popular for cavalry skirmishing in the American Civil War. Should be quite a few around the Elephant and Castle PA if you searched for them.

Very Nice, ok for urban. With the Malay round, this would make you think twice seeing someone up close with that. Myself, i would prefer post fail something like the Benelli M4 with buckshot & slug loads

In terms of my PA weapons of choice then I reckon I would go for one of these as my side arm.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauser_C96This as my sub-machine gune.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP_40And finally one of these for all my assault rifle needs.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beretta_ARX_160I would like to stress that all of these have been chosen primarily on how smart they look rather than their suitablility in anyway for PA conflict !

Beretta ARX 160 Very Nice, but will be hard to pick up post fall. Unless you know where from In terms of Assault rifle's (post fall) The SA 80 will be all over the place, not much wrong with it. Just bad press from armchair general's, also the army now fit to every 1 in 4 the AG 36 UGL. Which can upset a lot of people as well. Other assault rifle's that will be around are the HK G36 which is used by Police forces around the UK. And if you live near the City of London keep an eye out for the police carrying the Lewis Machine Tool version of the M4/AR15. They have ironed out all the bug's that has dogged the M16 family. Machine Gun wise (post fall). I would go for the HK MP7 which is used by the CNC/MoD Plod here in the UK. Pistol wise (post fall), will have to be the Glock 17 gen4. Which is to be the next standard issue pistol to the British Army. So again there will be a lot of them around. Dave

Nothing wrong with the SA80. I know it was disliked when it first came into service and it did not help that the first major conflict was the Gulf-War with the irony being that the FN-SLR it replaced being perhaps far more suited to that sort of wide-ranging desert warfare but after the up-grade, then I understand from friends in the services that its a good gun.
It looks rather stylish as well although I think the shorter carbine version that is issued to tank crews and so on has a more 'Mad Max' feel to it.
Out of interest what would have happened to the old SLR and sterling SMG's that it replaced ? Would they have been sold or are they safety stored away in some old salt mine ?

We were shooting my pistol crossbow yesterday. Quite a scary piece of kit, 80lb pull. Can hit short range targets shooting off-hand. Same with the air pistol, don't understand why "they" claim extreme innaccuracy for pistols.

I like it, looks like a boarding musket. It looks like you could fire nails, flechettes, and obsidian out of that barrel. MEAN. Thanks for the picture. I'd like A Howitzer and a Luger, and a high tech armor piercing Sniper Rifle. You never know. Fired a Walther PPK once nice ; but it tends to nip the snuff spot of your hand-if your not careful- as it recoils, so small-that Bond gun -but very accurate little .22.

Nice story I read today of a Good Old Norfolk Boy who was out with a local doctor when they saw a couple of wood pigeons on a tree and not a cartridge between them for the doctor's twelve-bore. But he had his punt gun over his shoulder, a bit of loose powder in his pocket and a few nails left over. Loading up he let fly and actually nailed the birds to the tree.
But he said, as they went to get the birds"They birds flapped their wings and the whole tree took off!"

Actually I fancy a punt gun with punt. Plenty of birds PA. but just to touch off a 1.5/2inch bore loaded with 3/4 pound of shot and I don't know how much powder. Woooosh! Pop!

Have to confess that I watch Topshot the marksman's competition. Not sure why the miss so much but in last night's episode the we're shooting a Ruger semi-automatic .22. Always have liked the .22 since I spent a lot of my pocket money shooting .22 pump action rifles in a shooting gallery. Only Short Rifle ammunition I think but if one had Long Rifle or better still Hornet then the .22 is a serious ammo.
No semi-autos or pumps with decent magazine capacity now in the UK thanks to Loonies and over-reaction. There was a .22 full auto in the States with a hundred+ drum magazine I saw details of that would deal with quite a few Zombies of that was your thing.
