OK, haven't we all wondered what we'd actually have to contribute in a PA situation? As a retired school/public librarian, sometimes I wondered......it sent me thinking about what other skills I'd got. Horseback riding-potentially useful, creative camp cooking, etc. And REALLY fast knitting on simple projects. Honestly, I didn't think much of even that-certainly not in the initial aftermath. Then I picked up a copy of a knitting magazine and found this in their book review section: Doomsday Knits by Alex Tinsley. Haven't seen it yet, but it's available on Amazon......
And now for something completely different: I can only speak for this side of the Pond, but I've noticed at the library where I now volunteer quite a number of PA books aimed at kids and the library population called "Young Adults" over here, i.e., from not quite teenagers to not quite adults. I used to read quite a lot in this category professionally-kiddie/teen lit that is-and kept on after retirement 'cause most of it is quite high quality. If there's interest out there, I could make it a point to post titles/authors & brief summary here.
Once a librarian, always a librarian.....

Have shared the Knit book on Facebook, we have many knitters in Cornwall including The Yarn Bombers chapter Graffiti Grannys who will sneak out at night to cover things likes traffic bollards with knitware.
Interesting to see the slant that authors for youfs put on things. Z for Zachariah and Empty World are two good PA novels for this group.
