As an ex-resident of Peckham and having had to watch its decline I might say that this is not far from reality but an artist called Nick Cobb has decided to make a scale model of the multi-storey car park that is situated just off Peckham Rye Lane (Peckhams 'premier' shopping street) and envisaged it in a PA setting... www.flickr.com/photos/theres_nobody_here/Found them fascinating for a whole host of reasons not least of which is that I spent my formative years at the top end of the road on which the multi-storey car park was built so it has a particular resonance with me. And the crumbling rail way arches, well they ran along the back garden and I can still remember the whole house shaking as the numerous trains, which ran in and out of Peckham Rye rail way station, blasted along. The mulit-storey car park as things stand is an intimidating place but in the summer months the open air top floor is turned into a combination bar-art gallery and well worth making the trip to SE15 to have a 'butchers' at !

Thanks for that. I have sent the link to a friend of mine who is a keen modeller and has been doing a series of dioramas of various prehistoric scenes such as boat-building and agriculture as well as those from modern and ancient warfare. If he can be persuaded then it would be interesting to see some PA scenarios come to life in miniature.

Sadly the modeller wants to concentrate on prehistoric scenes and past war dioramas.

Went along to see it and it was incredible. Also met the modeler himself and had a fascinating conversation (although I think he was rather taken aback by my passion and admiration for it and the whole PA genre. I think he had me down as some sort of deranged Prepper type. The deranged bit, that I am happy with but I am the worlds worst Prepper ! ). The detail involved is incredible with the only real shame being that he was talking about breaking it up if he cannot find a permanent home for it. I did suggest the Museum of London in which it would make a fascinating display to have at the exit as a sort of 'what if' for Londons future. Just got to keep my fingers crossed the a lottery win so that I can get it myself
