Still one of the best British docu-dramas about 'what if'.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=58NmAzQzRjkI remember being shown this in school during the 80's when it was still officially banned by the BBC. Had a lasting impact and loses nothing even if it is now very much dated.

I've been looking for a copy of this for about 20 years, but only just thought to look for an online version and watched it today. I assumed it would be copyrighted and unavailable, but there's a complete version on Google Videos (not cut into sections).
It looks a bit dated, but it hasn't lost any of its power. It just made me think that if an attack would be that bad in 1965, imagine how worse things could be with today's more powerful nuclear weapons.

Today's problem is that H bombs have been made more selective, I believe that on some you can even set the megatonnage you want when the bomb explodes. This would allow so-called surgical strikes. And, does anybody really believe that neutron bombs were not developed along with EMP devices? All of which means that some generals might believe that a situation could be resolved by nuclear means.

I have a couple of American Civil Defense (sic) films and really nuclear attack isn't much to worry about as long as the women roll bandages and the men look stern and ration supplies in the department store shelter.
