So the Leavers have won. I was thinking of the assorted PA and Dystopian novels that have England ot the UK cut off from the rest of the world. Mandrake was good. What others are there, 1984 of course, various children's stories, lots on my Kindle. The words of Death of Grass come to mind. Voice of America on the radio, then (to paraphrase), "so that banner still waves. I wonder if the legend of America will inspire people to cross the ocean only to discover a land as rough and brutal as their own."

The notion of an isolated UK following a PA event is an interesting one. Always rather liked how the film '28 days later' ended (although there is an alternative ending available on the DVD) with jets seeing their message although it was the sequel made it clear that things go horribly wrong for Europe in the end.
