i rarely discuss my "plan" with people as most of them think im crazy already.
Most of you have been at this alot longer than i have so i imagine theyre alot more detailed. Basically mine is grab the contents of my "justincase" footlocker, throw it in the boot of my car. drive to the nearest supermarket and raid that then head to Devon, Im only in bristol so not far at all. just wondered where you guys are heading so i can avoid the traffic. haha

Having asked this question to people with the same mind set as a few off us on here. Who live in the South West. They intend to stop traffic getting to far in... TQ

I am totally ill-prepared and would not really have a clue how to start even preparing a plan.
I suppose its more a case of just adapting to how things happen along with having a strong belief in the old adage 'if there is a will there is a way'.

hopefully as far from the main roads as possible. traffic would always be a problem. especially if the EOTW happens on a bank holiday weekend.

Shifty, if I remember correctly you work for the NHS.
What sort of staffing levels are needed for hospitals to carry on functioning ? How many staff would they need not to show up before it become impossible for them to carry on working in any meaningful way ?

nah sorry mate. I'm a mental health nurse. i work for a private company. Although when i did my training i did some placements on wards. I dont think it would take alot. Most of the time hospitals are running on basic staff levels anyway.

Most of the time hospitals are running on basic staff levels anyway. Okey dokey. I guess that it would not take much to see them collapse, especially in London. A & E departments are like something out of a bad Zombie film on a good day, let alone when the world starts to fall apart.

Depends absolutely on circumstances of course, at least if in your own place you could register for rations. But one bug out idea I had was to drive quite a short distance to a little place I know on the sea down a very narrow track. Has water and a stream and wood, shellfish, wild food and fish plus the potential of gardening.
Depending on who else was there we could block the road and make it look derelict, removing a couple of signposts of course.
Might work but if it didn't then possibly could take off in one of the big moored sailing ships. Maybe paddle at night to see if it were possible to raid for supplies from nearby towns and villages.

wouldn't hit local supermarket as lots will have same idea.
I have a shotgun license, do some hunting and vermin control where I live (rabbits pigeons etc) so know how to catch and prepare my own game, have discussed it with a couple of close friends and we know that we can trust each other so that if it does hit the fan we have access to supplies, weapons and more importantly people we can each rely on.
made the mistake once of discussing this kind of scenario with some friends who were shocked that I had no qualms about killing to protect my family, they thought that it wasn't 'right' I was prepared to fight for my children and wife to enable them to survive.

i fight it funny how people always think we're crazy. i had a friends gf question me on why i store small amounts of water and i explained that its just incase. She used to make a big joke of it. I asked her once what she would do in the event of a flood. a very simple flood like they had in cheltenham where they couldnt drink any water. She told me that she would rely on the goverment to ship it in..... I suppose i cant be too mad. Its that ignorance which will mean my survival.....hopefully
