www.scarrow.co.uk/Alex Scarrow is the author of 'Last Light' and 'After Light' which are novels which deal with a peak oil post apoc scenario as it happens and then 10 years later. I have read the first but not the second. I confess to enjoying the beginning and middle of 'Last Light' but not quite buying into the last bit but I tend to be on the optimistic side when it comes to outcomes which makes me rather a rarity in the post apoc community . But its a well worthy addition to any post apoc collection and I will be ordering the sequel to take away on my hols with me. His brother, Simon, rights more historical fiction but they are very good and I would highly recommend his series set in the Roman Empire.

I have read Simon Scarrow's Work - especially as he is resident here in East Anglia, even have a couple of signed copies of his books. read the first 6 or so of the series before moving on to other things.
Alex scarrow I read his debut novel on the strength of him approaching me having recommended his brothers books on facebook. Unfortunately having read it i had some questions of one of the central characters. It seemed that to me he had a total personality transplant in the last 10 pages of the book which seemed out of sorts with the rest of the novel to fit a "happy" ending.
lets just say he didnt take my questioning around the motivations there very well.
I havent tried his "light" books as i thought that he has now moved into the teen fiction market but may need a look.
To be fair i was put off by his attitude- he approached me to read his work and when i had bought it and had an issue he was a little narky about it. ho hum!
